SILCA Ultimate Tubeless Sealant | 473 ml
With Ultimate Tubeless Sealant, 6, 9 and 12 mm long recycled carbon fibers are evenly distributed in a foaming latex to create an ultra-strong seal. The sealant is based on a natural latex formula, is environmentally friendly and contains no ammonia.
A unique foaming latex formulation ensures that the very light carbon fibers are evenly distributed in the sealant during the ride, ensuring a higher fiber content than other methods. With this high fiber density, the carbon fiber bundles are carried by the sealant flow directly to the hole, where thousands of microbubbles collapse and deposit their highly rigid carbon fibers over the hole. During this process, the carbon fibers form a dam of fibers on the tire carcass. This dam of high-strength fibers has been shown in tests to seal holes up to 7.5 mm, depending on weather conditions. Once sealed, this area of carbon fiber reinforced latex is less susceptible to future punctures.
Note: For best results, Silca recommends the use of tensilized polypropylene (TPP) rim tapes, such as those sold by Stan's, Tesa and others. These are generally opaque tapes with no imprint and are much stronger and more abrasion resistant than vinyl based tapes.
