Introduced with the SRAM RED and Force eTap AXS groups, the Rival chain was also designed according to the elegant and innovative flat-top design. The shape of the plates allows the chain to be made narrower and lighter. The resulting greater distance between the outer plates and the pinions leads to smoother chain running and more precise gear changes. As a positive side effect, the service life of the chain also increases. Nickel-coated outer and inner tabs and a hard chrome treatment of the head pins also ensure higher mileage.
